About the Aromatherapy Course

Spiritual Discovery is hosting a 4 Week Aromatherapy Course from
7:30pm to 9:30pm on Wednesdays in the Spring of 2009. It will be held at our
Spiritual Discovery Training Center in La Mesa, California (10 minutes
east of Downtown San Diego) on Wednesday nights for four consecutive weeks.
This course is open to all those who are interested in Aromatherapy. It will
"spice" up your life with essential oils: living plant, flower, fruit, and
tree essences. Discover how therapeutic grade oils are powerful healers for
many physical, psychological, emotional, and spiritual conditions. In the
process, you will learn from instructor, Paul Wellin, historical influences,
safety precautions and daily uses in bath, on the body, and aromatically.

Fee for the full course is $100, and if paid in full by the first class it will be

About the Instructor

Paul Wellin has been a practicing healer, teacher, and facilitator for 20 years.
He received his Master of Arts degree, in Psychology, in 1985, then began studying
alternative health and spiritual healing. His massage therapy career began in 1992
when he volunteered to provide massage services during a firestorm in Santa Barbara,
California. He became so inspired by this work, that he soon was working at a
spiritual center in Ojai, California, offering massage treatments every Saturday.

Yoga became a major component of his healing treatments, beginning with yoga studies
at a meditation center in 1988, and immersing in the sacred yoga practices of pranayama
(breath control), mind techniques, body cleansing, chanting, sacred texts, and emotional
healing. He has been instructing in yoga since 1994. Paul developed a new style of yoga,
“chi yoga,” which incorporates various hatha yoga approaches, chi gong exercises, and
the meditative practices. Paul developed a vision for a new Bodywork Method in the
mid-1990’s, incorporating stretches from hatha yoga, energy techniques from tai chi,
chi gong, and acupuncture, plus emotional healing, and guided imagery/meditation.

He calls this Integration Healing “Life-Force Therapy.” Adding aromatherapy, in the
late 1990’s helped finalize his healing vision. The oils took the client out of their
stressful thoughts, and helped them feel good in their body. The oils helped them accept
their feelings easier. And the oils seemed to assist the flow of chi (life-force) in
their body, expanding their endorphins and their meditative states as well.. Paul also
teaches Healing Integration to interested practitioners.
